Jacket Required was our third and final trade show of the AW15 Season – and it was a completely different experience to both Paris and Copenhagen. It feels like a predominantly UK show with majority UK brands and a strong contingent of UK buyers – it also feels like a real trading event, maybe without some of the glossy veneer of our previous shows.
It’s buzzy, busy and for two days there was an encouraging tide of people flowing by – some just clocking us without breaking step, some pausing momentarily, and some stopping to look at our key ‘crowdstopper’ pieces the Wren Technical Raincoat and our signature Garrick Hooded Sweater. As a new kid on the block all the recognition feels good, even if there’s still an understandable and expected ‘looking forward to your next collection’ as a next step.
We met a range of great people – buyers, media and fellow exhibitors including SunPocket, Triumph & Disaster and Libertine-Libertine – and look forward to building our presence at future shows. All in all a great first experience. Thanks for having us.
