Our Kefalonia edition didn’t fit into a box, it’s a pleasure garden but it isn’t urban, it’s cool concrete but more than just cool, it’s a lot more than that actually… so we decided to do a mashup.

The Greek Islands aren’t short of an incredible view or two…

or three or four…

In his latest work, Belgian architect Oliver Dwek takes full advantage of the island of Kefalonia’s picturesque landscape.

The layout is all about location, specifically maximising the incredible vistas of the Ionian Sea. Working with the intense climate, high temperatures and sea breezes, the house cleverly shelters and exposes, another beautiful contemporary home blurring the line between outside and in.

Large glass sliding doors lead the living and dining areas into a beautifully minimal patio area: a clean white pavilion looking out on to the deep blue. “The living space was oriented towards this fascinating seascape, which the architecture emphasises, making it even more theatrical.” says Dwek.

Unfortunately Dwek’s Silver House isn’t available on Airbnb yet but we’re checking regularly so we’ll let you know the moment it does.
